Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is a Brit-American sitarist and musician. She was among the youngest and first female to win the British House of Commons Shield she's had 9 Grammy Awards nominations and was the first musician of Indian origin to perform live on stage and also serve as a presenter at the award ceremony. Anoushka Shakar, a young rising star on the Indian Sitar is Anoushka. She is a scholar and granddaughter of legendary Ravi Shankar. She was born 1982 in London. The first few years of her life were split between London and New Delhi. At New Delhi, she made her first appearance at only 13 years of age. She has been performing with her father on stage for several years. Her first solo album, Anourag, was released in 1998. In 2002, she debuted her Grammy nominated album Live At Carnegie Hall.
